POTENTIAL TASKS

• Rebuild existing Excel workbooks from scratch.
• Design clean, structured data models with inputs, calculations, and outputs clearly separated.
• Recreate and improve complex formula logic, lookup tables and internal databases, automated calculations.
• Recreate existing macros / VBA (or propose better alternatives where appropriate); rewrite and optimise formulas and VBA code.
• Improve file performance, stability, scalability; implement data validation, error handling, and user protections.
• Create a professional, intuitive UI for non-technical users; dashboards, summary outputs, and reporting views.
• Apply NBS branding (colours, fonts, layouts, dashboards, cover sheets).
• Ensure maintainable, future-proof files; produce handover documentation explaining structure and functionality.
• Analyse existing files to understand logic/workflows; translate business/engineering requirements into robust Excel solutions.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCES REQUIRED

• Advanced Microsoft Excel expertise
• Strong experience with complex formulas (INDEX/MATCH/XLOOKUP, arrays, dynamic ranges, etc.)
• Strong experience with structured tables and data modelling
• Strong experience with VBA / macros
• Proven experience rebuilding/developing Excel-based tools from scratch
• Strong attention to detail and logical thinking

Preferred But Not Required:

• Experience designing Excel tools for engineering/construction/consultancy environments
• Ability to suggest smarter solutions (Power Query, Power Pivot, structured models)
• UI/UX mindset for Excel (clean layouts, intuitive workflows)
