A Finance and Bookkeeping Virtual Assistant provides remote financial and administrative support to businesses by managing day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with financial reporting. The role helps ensure the company's financial data is organized, accurate, and up to date. 

Work Hours:

Rate:

⭐ 7 GBP per hour

You receive 100% of your full advertised rate - paid directly to you by your client. We never take a cut, percentage, or reduce your earnings in any way.

POTENTIAL TASKS

  • Record and categorize daily financial transactions in line with UK bookkeeping standards. 
  • Maintain accurate UK bookkeeping records in Xero. 
  • Reconcile bank, credit card, and payment processor accounts. 
  • Prepare and support UK VAT tracking, including recording VAT on purchases and sales in compliance with HMRC requirements. 
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing UK VAT returns and ensuring VAT records are complete and accurate. 
  • Create and send invoices to clients, ensuring correct VAT treatment where applicable. 
  • Monitor outstanding payments and follow up on overdue accounts. 
  • Process vendor bills and schedule payments, ensuring proper VAT coding. 
  • Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports. 
  • Track business expenses and update expense records, including VAT allocation. 
  • Organize and maintain digital financial documents and receipts in accordance with UK accounting and VAT requirements. 
  • Assist with payroll data entry and provide financial records for tax preparation. 

SKILLS/EXPERIENCES REQUIRED

  • Strong bookkeeping and accounting knowledge, including familiarity with UK bookkeeping principles and VAT compliance. 
  • Must have knowledge of Xero, including setup, transaction processing, and reporting. 
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets for financial tracking, reporting, and analysis. 
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly when handling VAT-related entries and reconciliations. 
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data effectively. 
  • Experience in account reconciliation and financial record management, ensuring accuracy across bank, credit card, and payment processor accounts. 
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines efficiently. 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information in line with UK compliance standards. 
  • Strong communication and client service skills, with the ability to liaise professionally with stakeholders. 
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote working environment. 

Bonus: Previous experience working with a UK Property/Real Estate business, including familiarity with rent tracking, landlord reporting, and property-related bookkeeping.
