We’re looking for an Accounts Assistant to take charge of key day-to-day financial operations across property companies. You’ll be managing rent collections, reconciling accounts, producing month-end reports, and supporting the overall finance function — all within Xero.

This is a critical, hands-on role best suited to someone who’s organized, numerate, and confident working independently in a fast-paced, property-focused environment.

 Work Hours:

⭐ Part-time
⭐ 30 hours / week
⭐ 9am – 5pm UK time (preferred availability)

Rate:

⭐ 5 GBP per hour

POTENTIAL TASKS

Rent & Income Management

  • Track rental payments and reconcile against tenant records
  • Chase arrears via email, phone, or recorded notes
  • Flag missed or delayed payments and follow escalation protocols

Bank Reconciliation & Xero Management

  • Record transactions and match entries in Xero
  • Reconcile company bank accounts on a daily/weekly basis
  • Maintain accuracy across ledgers and ensure timely data entry

Month-End & Reporting

  • Generate P&L summaries and basic financial reports
  • Help prepare monthly updates for the management team
  • Assist with cash flow summaries and income projections

Admin & General Support

  • Support document filing and invoice tracking
  • Coordinate with internal teams on tenant-related payments
  • Occasionally assist with other property-related finance admin tasks

SKILLS/EXPERIENCES REQUIRED

  • Proven experience using Xero for bookkeeping or accounting
  • Comfortable reconciling multiple bank accounts
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Fluent in English; capable of professional communication with tenants and colleagues
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Experience in property or lettings industry is a strong advantage
  • Comfortable working with numbers and handling sensitive financial data

Preferred But Not Required:

  • Familiarity with UK rental cycles or property management
  • Experience supporting multiple business entities or accounts
  • Background in finance for SMEs or family-run businesses
